Specializing in on-set film still photography and content creation for commercials, TV shows, and feature films, I had the honor of shooting the 25th anniversary campaign for XXXLutz.
This opportunity took me from Vienna, Austria, to Los Angeles, California, equipped with a Leica Q3 and additional gear, for five intense days on the road capturing the essence of a project developed by the agency Demner Merlicek & Bergmann, scripted and directed by Christopher Schier, and shot by cinematographer Thomas W. Kiennast.
The nature of the project—a “run-and-gun” shoot, where a fast-moving crew captures a large number of shots in a short time—required me to be fully prepared for a high-pressure environment. I approach everything in life with a cross-disciplinary mindset, so on set, with little certainty of what to expect, I focused on observing all the elements that create the perfect space for capturing movie stills.
From Los Angeles, California, through the Four Aces Movie Ranch, and all the way to Las Vegas, Nevada, I captured nearly 2,000 images, along with social media content of the Putz Family: Hubert Wolf as Max Putz, Cécile Nordegg as Linda Putz, Stephan Bauer as Putzi Putz, Chiara Jil Pisati as Ixi Putz, and Viktoria Brams as Oma Putz.
I am deeply grateful for this opportunity—for the sunsets, the special shared moments, and the incredible crew members I met along the way. Special thanks to producer Vanessa G. Türksever Schuler for trusting me and being my support system not just on this project, but beyond as well.
